Our very own Chairman, Packie Ferry, won the Intermediate class at Letterkenny’s Derby today with Gypsy and will bring home the Intermediate Perpetual Cup! Ryan McBride narrowly missed out on the Primary Cup with Clyde, coming second. Stephen Greene also just missed out, coming 2nd with Indie, in the Advanced Intermediate class and 3rd in the Intermediate and Above Speed Pairs with Letterkenny’s Geraldine Porter. Liz Potter and Clyde took 2nd place in Advanced Primary Dressage with 64%.
Next Sunday, 17th July, there will be two more cups up for grabs at Falcarragh Gymkhana – the ponies and the horses. Stephanie Greene from Dungloe has won the Ponies Cup for the last two years, and I’m sure she still has the cup. On the other hand, the Horses Cup keeps disappearing. In 2008, Stephanie’s father Stephen won it. In 2009, it disappeared from his house one night, but reappeared in his van just before the 2009 show, where Packie won it. Obviously, it disappeared from his house too and was presented to his wife Carmel, in error, for winning a jumping league some time later. The 2010 gymkhana saw it go to Coleraine with Dawn Bond. Where might it be now?
